Savior of the World

I had my acting debut and a few of my buddies even came out to support me. It was a great event and I didn't any mess up on any lines, although I did have to make up a couple because someone else forgot their lines. After the performance we had another celebration at my house and had to have ice cream, cause it's tradition. I think we even managed to get rid of a few half gallons of ice cream, which really is exciting. We, Becky Castleton and I, even started recording songs for our first CD. It comes out next year but if you want a sneak peak check out my facebook account.

Festival of Colors

Kristen called me up a few weeks ago to tell me that I was going to the Hara Krishna temple in Spanish Fork to enjoy a cultural event, so I consented. It was quite the experience. We threw colored corn starch on one another and ended up lost in the middle of a mosh pit. My first experience in the pit and I'll admit that I hated it. The colors washed out of my hair pretty well but I ruined a pair of undergarments and an EFY shirt. But is really was an exciting event.

Apples and Tenors

At work we handed out apples for the kiddies and I took a sticker off a few of the apples and stuck it on my forehead. The kids soon followed suit and took their stickers and put them on my forehead. As for the part about the tenors. . . This is J.R. and Austin having the time of their lives. Not sure how Austin ended up on J.R.'s shoulders but he never could have ended up on mine. I think he probably would have killed me. But if you don't end up on someone's shoulders you can always just go up to the roof.

Flowers

Today I don't know that Haylee wants to mind the teacher but these girls were quite excited to show me their find. I even got to keep some of the flowers to give to my girlfriend. I don't know that the flowers made it home though. I think they might have died. The girls were also very concerned when one of the other kids was playing harshly with the flowers. They thought that if the flowers were treated too roughly then the flowers would die. I didn't think I should tell the girls that the flowers had already died because they had picked them, so I kept my mouth shut.

Feathers

This is Haylee. We kind of have a love/hate relationship. Some days she chooses to listen to the teacher and gets positive attention. On other days she chooses to not listen to the teacher and gets to pull cards. Today she decided that I was worth listening to and also found a stash of feathers to play with. I think she rather enjoyed trying to do my hair and I appreciated that she was willing to listen to me. As a side note she is a killer Connect Four player. She beats all the older boys, with assistance from me. But I think she could almost do it herself.

All the way from Hong Kong

My aunt who is living in Hong Kong, otherwise known as the Honkanese aunt came to stay with us for a few days. We have had quite the unique experiences over the years and if you are really curious to find out what they are you should probably be asking me about them. We did have a chance to go out to dinner at Joy Luck in keeping with the Chinese tradition. Of course we also introduced her to the ever popular game of 7-Up as well.

Memorizing Lines

Since the performance of Savior of the World is coming up this week I figured that I should probably get all my lines nailed down. So Kristen was kind enough to assist me in my quest and take pictures. We are also going to a Hindu celebration on Saturday where we get to throw chalk at each other. So I stuck the camera in the bag to determine if that was a fesible way to record the action. I'm not thinking it is going to work out, but it was worth a try. And did you realize that Easter happened on this day last year?

Adam's House

We have started a new tradition for Choralaire Sundays. Before the blessing is said on the food we grab a knife and start in on Tesse's peanut butter bars. We figure that since that is the only dessert we really want and since Tesse acquiesces then why not. So a few of us had four or five apiece before lunch began. But a special thanks to Adam Hellewell for providing his house and the white aprons for the event. A good time, good enough even to compete with last year's activitiy.

Steph's

Last week at Tesse's party Kristen promised J.R. that we would stop by for a visit. We decided to head over to J.R.'s house first since he hadn't been answering his phone. So we went in and had a nice visit and Kristen showed off her skills on the guitar. By the time we left his house we were starving and went to his restaurant, Steph's Drive-In, for some lunch. Since I happen to be addicted to ice cream I had to get some. Then there's last year.

Games with the Riggs

Tonight Juli and her husband Brannick came over to play games with my parents, Kristen and Juli's brother Tyler. It was a fun night with a lot of sugar and I think I lost most of the games but I had a good time. We even managed to squeeze in a few hourly of Thoroughly Modern Millie before they showed up.

Sunshine and heat

Turns out not everyone appreciated the sunshine and warmth as much as I did. I was so excited when I woke up in the morning and saw that is was 60 degrees that I could help but dress down for the occasion. So I put on some shorts and headed out the door. It was nice to be warm for a day and pretend like I was back in Taiwan or the height of the Utah Summer.

Cars

So I understand that my car could use quite a bit of help and so I avoid putting it on the blog whenever possible. But I thought I would show off J.R.'s car and this other random car we found in the parking lot after one of lunch groups. And that is really about all I have to say. Oh and Happy Birthday Laura!

A Day in Green

This is Candace, one of my friends that just returned from her mission. A good lass and it was nice to catch up for a moment. Nothing special this St. Patrick's Day except for Institute which happens every Tuesday. Still it was nice to see everybody wearing my favorite color. It was quite a shock cause last year nobody except my and my fellow co-workers broke out the green. It still made me laugh when everywhere I turned I say green. So here is last year.

After the party

I had a reunion with my old friends from Institute Council today and didn't manage to snag any pictures from the reunion. I also left early cause the party was dying and I wanted to stop by and visit Kristen. So I took some picture in my "tot man sweater" and then headed home.

St. Patty's Day Party

Sunday dinner at Paul and Karen's house always promises to be a treat and this week was no exception. I made it this week in full costume, since I did not have anywhere else to be after dinner. So I wore the green and chased the little kiddies all over the yard after they got a call from the leprechaun and searched for the treasure he had promised.

Tesse's House

We had a small get together tonight and spent the evening on Tesse's roof and trampoline among other places. As always her famous peanut butter bars were present as were plently of plastic balls to chuck at each other. Here's last year.

Community Service

As I mentioned before, the Davis County Libraries prefer to think that they still own me and can dress me up as they wish. Well they do and they asked me to come assist in the St. Patrick's Day event. So I dressed up in green and got to help little people make little Irish people. It was kind of fun and I made a few tiny friends. Turns out that I was suppose to come up with my own Leprechaun costume but no one told me so I ended up in a green sweater instead. It was exciting though and it feels good to be giving something back to the community, even if I have to look like a fool sometimes.

Savior of the World

So I am still trying to promote the Easter Cantata that I'm doing in a few weeks and I still have rehearsal every Thursday. I decided that I should probably practice beforehand so I broke out the computer so I wouldn't look like such a big goof. So here I am staring at the computer. After the practice Kristen came over and obviously things weren't too exciting cause she fell asleep in the middle of the conversation. And here's last year.

The Simons

Today was one of those days that took me everywhere. I had to get up around 6:30a.m. to get to Brother Simon's house for breakfast and small ensemble practice. The breakfast was amazing: two kinds of waffles, hash browns, bacon, yogurt, grape juice, etc. It was a really nice way to start the morning off. Then we had to sing our song that he is writing and make up parts. And let me tell you that making up parts ain't exactly my strongest suit. But we suffered through it and we are improving. Following the breakfast and practice a few of us went out to J.R.'s diner and had lunch. We took a bunch of random pictures like people's eyes. Some are quite disgusting and if you really want you can check them out on facebook under the Spring Break photo's. Then I showed up for work and the rest of the day went about as normal.

The Secret Life of Taxes

My co-worker, Lindsay, was kind enough to let my family borrow "The Secret Life of Bees" so we could all cry together. I must admit that I didn't shed any tears but I know some of the other people in the room did. I was also quite impressed that during the movie Lindsey, my sister, was able to finish her taxes. So we had some good bonding time together and now we can go out and start a bee farm.

"Aida"

Today I had the wonderful opportunity to attend "Aida" at my old high school. I thought it was well done and yet it was still a little strange to be reliving high school again. After the show we came home and played games. That was pretty much the extent to it. And here's last year.

greenchineseleprechaun

The first blog I created is called greenchinesechristmas because I like the color green, I was going to a Chinese speaking country and left right after Christmas. Today we celebrated the Chinese New Year with her family. I am a dog for those of you interested. Following the Chinese celebration we went to my family party and celebrated St. Patrick's Day and a few birthdays. and the leprechaun, well you can figure that one out. Luckily the other party we had planned didn't quite work out so we did not have to spread ourselves out too thinly.

DeAnn's Reception

Tonight we went out to DeAnn Erickson's reception. It was a fun event. They had Jones soda with their faces plasted all over it. There were also photo of them all over the room. One of the photo's taken at our table was from one of our triple dates. Kristen had taken the picture, she felt really special. Tesse was also kind enough to hang out with us even though we have become sorta boring. Luckily the Simons showed up and kept her entertained. Thank goodness for good friends.
